How things work

The Aldi Expressi is really simple to use when you're dying for a coffee fix. We will provide some capsules to get you started, but if you prefer other flavours or strength then just head to the nearby Aldi for a great selection of Expressi capsules.

1. Add the water. Fill the water tank up to the "max" indicator line. Located at the back of the machine, you remove the tank by tilting it backwards and lifting. To insert it back in, just slide it back into place.

2. Empty the capsules. Clear the used capsule storage by pulling out the front section of the machine and emptying into the bin.

3. Turn it on. Check it's plugged in and turned on, then press any of the buttons to wake it up.

4. Run rinse cycle. After it has warmed up, only the rinse option will be lit up and available. Place a cup under the spout and press the rinse button to do a quick clean of the machine. Throw that water out.

5. Add new capsule. Now it's warmed up and rinsed, you should see the small and large cup options are available. Lift up the lever on top of the machine, insert a new capsule, then lower the lever to lock it in place. 

6. Fill your cup. Place a cup under the spout again, then press the small or large cup depending on your preference. To stop the flow for any reason just press the button again.

7. The machine will automatically switch off after you stop using it.

The fastest way to get started using the microwave is to press the Start button to add 30-second blocks of cooking time.

You can also use the slide touch key to slide your finger left and right to adjust the cooking time.

Microwave Manual 

1. Scrape large food scraps into the bin, no need to pre-rinse in the sink.

2. Arrange tableware with dirtier items on the bottom where water jets are the strongest.

3. Insert dishwasher tablet into the dispenser and close the lid. 

4. Close the door of the dishwasher and press the power button, lights will come on.

5. Press the programme button to select the suitable wash for the dishes you've loaded.

6. Press start.

Dishwasher Manual 

The electric oven and cooktop are on an isolated electrical circuit - the switch is on the wall near the sink. If there are no lights on the oven clock, you need to turn it on at the isolation switch. Before using the oven, you may need to press some of the buttons on the clock to stop the display from flashing.

When using the cooktop, you will notice red light indicators at the front edge which indicates the hob positions. These lights are just to warn that the surface may still be hot - they come on automatically if any of the hobs are turned on, and after a cooling-off period the lights will go out automatically.

The TV is equipped with FireTV for all the major streaming services, and is connected to a soundbar for a better audio experience.

Streaming on the TV - you only need the small FireTV remote. The power button will switch on the TV, FireTV and the soundbar. The volume up/down will control the soundbar volume. You can use the voice recognition on the remote to search. Navigate around the menus with the remote, install and sign in to your favourite streaming apps.

Free-to-air TV - we strongly recommend using the streaming apps for ABC, 7, 9, 10, SBS etc. However, if you really want to use the antenna connection you can do it via the TV remote control. Press the Source button to select DTV, then use the standard controls on that remote to navigate through the channels. Change the Source back to HDMI4 to return to the FireTV.

Soundbar Bluetooth - if you would like to just play music via the soundbar, you use the small JBL remote. Turn the power on, and then press the Bluetooth button. A blue light will flash on the soundbar, and you can then sync with the device JBL CINEMA SB510.

⛔ Troubleshooting - Can't find Netflix or other streaming apps? Use the Soniq TV remote to switch between TV channels (antenna) and FireTV streaming (internet). Press the Source button (located two buttons below the number 9), then choose DTV for TV channels, or HDMI4 for FireTV. 

JBL Soundbar Manual

Bluetooth Speakers - to play music over the Games Room speakers (and also a speaker outside), locate the Fosi amp in the cupboard underneath the pool cue rack. Using its remote, power on the Fosi, then press the BL button to trigger the bluetooth sync - it will show up as Fosi Audio HT4S. You can adjust the bass/treble levels with the dials on the front of the Fosi amp.

📑 Simple Steps

1. Lift the lid, load in your washing (maximum 5.5kg).

2. Add washing powder or liquid according to directions on their pack.

3. Choose from the preset Wash Cycles, or select custom options for temperature, water level and spin speed.
   For a standard wash, press the Wash Cycles button until the Regular option is selected.

4. Turn on Eco mode to save water and energy if your load of washing is not very dirty.

5. Close the lid, and press Start to get things underway.

6. Refer to the Wash Progress bar to see how long remains, and use the fast forward button to skip stages of the wash cycle.

Clothes Washing Machine Manual

🌞 If the weather allows, always try to dry your clothes on the washing line or fold-out hanger provided.

🪟 When running the dryer, you need to have the laundry window open for ventilation so that the steam can escape. 

⚠️ Always follow the safety instructions found in the manual (link below). Some fabrics may cause a fire hazard in a tumble dryer, and you should not place any items containing foam or rubber, or any items which have come into contact with combustibles such as oil (vegetable, cooking, suntan, linseed, salad, lubrication), petrol/gasoline, solvents, grease, kerosene, turpentine etc. If unsure, DO NOT put in the dryer. 

📑 Simple Steps

1. Open the dryer door, load in your washing (maximum 5.5kg, and no more than two thirds full).

2. Select desired preset Program, or custom settings for temperature and duration.
   For a standard dry, press the Program up/down arrows until Normal Dry is selected, and also select the Boost option.

3. Close the door and press in the lock on the dryer door.

4. Press the Start arrow button to kick things off.

5. Press Pause and open the door at any time to check progress of the drying.

⛔ Troubleshooting

• Can't get it to start? You probably need to press in the lock button on the door of the dryer. 

• "Clean Filter" light is flashing? If too much lint is collected, the dryer might stop until you clean the filter. Open the door to find the filter just near the opening, and use the handle to gently pull it out. Remove any lint by hand, then replace the filter to continue the drying cycle.

Tumble Dryer Manual 

The aircon can be used to maintain a comfortable temperature in the living areas and bedrooms.

1. Close all windows and doors, and avoid using the oven or cooktop on a very hot day.

2. Switch on with the on/off button.

3. Set the Mode to Cool in Summer and Heat in Winter.

4. Adjust temperature with up/down arrows - for optimal comfort and efficiency, the ideal temperature to set is 24-26 degrees in Summer, and 18-20 degrees in Winter.

5. Remember to switch off when leaving the property or when a comfortable level is reached.

There is really nothing special about the BBQ - it operates as you'd expect!

1. Undo the velcro straps at each end of the cover and remove it.

2. Turn on the gas at the bottle.

3. Cook delicious food.

4. Wipe down the BBQ so it is ready to be used next time.

5. Turn off the gas at the bottle.

6. Replace the cover and secure the velcro straps.

⛔ Troubleshooting - Did the gas run out? We keep a second bottle under the BBQ, so you can switch between them to keep cooking!
